From the teaser alone, we’re given a lot of snippets, on what is going to take place. For those of you who, by you own admission, didn’t bother to read the books, you even get a quick preview of Finnick and Annie’s wedding! I love how the director chose to re-create this and stick to the events that took place in the book for once – unlike the first film, where they missed out key parts such as the avoxes, Katniss’s hearing loss and Peeta’s leg amputation. You’d know if you read the book.
The highlight for me of course is when Finnick Odair (Sam Clafin) mocks Katniss: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th annual Hunger Games,” referring to one of the final fight scenes where Katniss leads the districts to rebel in the Capitol. I will admit, whilst watching this I did have a MAJOR fangirl moment! Especially when the camera was faced on Katniss, ready to shoot an arrow…but at whom?
I must say the producers definitely delivered; they showed us exactly what we wanted to see AND more! The best part is that the full trailer is still to be released. For those of you who are still unsure about The Hunger Games, I suggest you go see the other films before November 20th. – I guarantee that you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Farewell for now, and may the odds be ever in your favour.
